The brunch scene in Neukölln is diverse and dynamic – just like the district itself. There is something for every palate here. Whether you fancy a classic breakfast, international flavors, or innovative dishes, these brunch venues will satisfy your cravings.
Neukölln is not just a foodie paradise but also rich in history and culture. The area boasts beautiful green spaces like the Tempelhofer Feld, a former airport turned public park, and the Britzer Garten, perfect for strolls and picnics. One of Neukölln's main streets, Sonnenallee, is often called "Arab Street" due to its numerous Middle Eastern shops and restaurants. Here, you can try delicious Arab and Turkish breakfasts.
Historically a working-class neighborhood, Neukölln has undergone significant gentrification over the past few decades, transforming into a hotspot for artists, creatives, and young professionals. The district is a melting pot of cultures, reflected in its wide variety of international restaurants, trendy cafés, and street markets.

Venue

Venue is one of our favorite brunch spots in Berlin Neukölln. Our author has spent countless hours here, enjoying cozy brunches with friends, working on her laptop, or having a quick cake between tasks. Located in the heart of Weserstraße, Venue is perfectly situated amidst the fabulous vintage stores, cafés, restaurants, and bars that define the area. If you're new to Neukölln, we recommend starting at Weserstraße and walking towards the canal to soak in the local vibe.
Why do we love Venue so much? Firstly, the interior. The minimalist design, complemented by beautiful dried flowers and vases (which are also for sale), creates a welcoming and stylish atmosphere. Secondly, the brunch experience here is customizable; everything is served in small bowls, allowing you to mix and match your favorites. Highlights include scrambled eggs, waffles, apricot croissants, and homemade cakes. Thirdly, the coffee is exceptional, with beans sourced from Fjord Coffee.
Next time you're in Berlin Neukölln, stop by Venue and see why it's a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike.

Just a few blocks away from Venue, also on Neukölln's Weserstraße, you will find dots. This small, hip Australian café is renowned for its excellent coffee and delicious breakfast offerings. We highly recommend trying the well-seasoned shakshuka, crispy paninis, homemade granola bowl, and egg florentine with poached egg. The pancakes are also a standout, featuring toppings like bacon among other delicious options. For those with dietary preferences, dots offers a variety of vegan choices.
Breakfast is served until 3 p.m., making it an ideal spot for a leisurely brunch or a late breakfast, especially if you’re recovering from a weekend hangover. Enjoy!

21gramm

The 21gramm is a beautiful oasis of calm in the middle of gloomy Neukölln. It is one of the most aesthetically pleasing cafés in Berlin, with a large terrace and an architecturally unique building. The café is located in a historic chapel, which adds a special touch to your dining experience. High ceilings, stained glass windows, and a modern and vintage décor blend create a peaceful environment.
The hall alone, with its high domed ceiling supported by stone pillars, is a sight to behold. The outdoor area offers a charming setting with historic clinker brick walls adorned with wild vines. At 21gramm, you can indulge in a diverse range of high-quality food, from healthy options to those perfect for curing a hangover. Imagine savoring a hearty shakshuka (also available in a vegan version), or indulging in toasted banana bread with vanilla mascarpone, and various delectable cakes. The café also serves an incredible array of drinks. We recommend the “Birnini” with pureed pear and the “Bellini” with pureed peach.
We recommend making a reservation. The 21gramm can also be booked as an event location.

Sorrel

The Sorrel is another pearl in the Neukölln brunch landscape. The restaurant is super stylish and has plenty of outdoor seating. You can enjoy various unusual breakfast specialties here seven days a week. How about French toast with burnt apple puree and sherry caramel? Or are you more in the mood for Fried Eggs & Labneh with Confit Garlic? The chefs at Sorrel know what they're doing.
Sorrel offers a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu (by the way, they also serve fantastic natural wine) that focuses on seasonality and the quality of the produce. The menu changes frequently based on seasonality and the availability of the best products. The coffee from local roasters, such as Fjord Coffee Roasters, also tastes excellent.
To ensure you don't miss out on the Sorrel experience, we strongly recommend booking a table in advance. Additionally, it's best to bring cash with you, as the restaurant operates on a cash-only basis.

Mona Lisa Classique

If you prefer something less fancy and more authentic, Café Mona Lisa is the place for you. The interior is rather “shabby chic”, here it's all about the fresh baked goods and the excellent Turkish breakfast.
You can choose from various breakfast platters and there are also many vegetarian and vegan options. We particularly like the menemen (Turkish egg dish with tomato and peppers) and the delicious cakes. The prices are fair and the service is super friendly. If you want to enjoy a relaxed brunch (either outside or inside) in Berlin Neukölln, this is the right place for you.

Holy Coffee

This cozy breakfast haven is nestled right on Sonnenallee. Holy Coffee stands out with its unique open work area at the entrance. Instead of a counter or bar, there’s a small terminal opposite a large wooden table.
At Holy Coffee, you will find delicious freshly baked pastries and other snacks, such as chia pudding, lemon cake, bagels, Bircher muesli, and croissants. Those with a bigger appetite will also find what they are looking for: options like avocado bread, bread with goat's cheese, walnuts, plums, and fig jam, or a red smoothie bowl with homemade granola and fruit. Another highlight is the pancakes – thick, fluffy, and light, served with berry compote, powdered sugar, and maple syrup. This is exactly how it should be.
