Starting out in 2011 as a coffee cart roaming around markets in London, Nømad moved to Barcelona in 2014 to help cultivate a taste for specialty coffee, opening their first store and later their own open roastery. They now distribute their product to a network of coffee shops around the world, bringing premium roasted coffee to coffee connoisseurs near and far. SlowMov are coffee roasters in Barcelona that put respect for producers and care for the environment at the heart of everything they do. The name comes from ‘Slow Movement’, with the idea that things can be done differently—moving forward but taking time to do it right. Coffee sold varies depending on the season, and while not all are certified organic, none are known to use any chemicals during their cultivation. They acknowledge the significant carbon footprint of coffee due to travel and transport, and work hard to minimise the impact of their business in other ways. Packaging is one such way, selling in bulk, and using 100% compostable packaging since 2018.
