Hardly any other European city is as famous for its vintage-inspired style as Berlin. In Berlin, everything is allowed in terms of style, it can - indeed should - be loud, wild and different. As a native Berliner, our author knows where to find the best pieces in Berlin's vintage jungle.
Whether in Neukölln, Charlottenburg, Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg or Mitte - you'll find great vintage stores in all of Berlin's districts. But the best vintage stores you will find in the alternative district of Neukölln. Here you can visit several vintage stores in one day and be inspired by the trendy outfits of Berliners.
The sheer variety of vintage and second-hand stores in Berlin can sometimes be overwhelming, as many stores have large displays that require extensive browsing through decades-old clothing. We personally prefer vintage stores that are well-organized and pre-sorted. Sometimes these stores are a little more expensive than Humana and the like, but you can usually find the most beautiful vintage outfits here. These stores offer a curated selection of vintage pieces, making it easier for you to find what you're looking for without having to dig through huge piles of clothes.
There are few better feelings than discovering your new favorite piece in a vintage store, aren’t they? It's a unique experience when you know that the bag, shoes or cardigan you've found are one-of-a-kind pieces that no one else has. In a world where fast fashion trends come and go in the blink of an eye, true vintage treasures stand the test of time. Vintage pieces convey a sense of history and individuality that mass-produced clothing simply cannot.
Berlin not only has great vintage stores, but also a large number of flea markets that offer fashion at particularly low prices. We recommend the RAW flea market, Nowkoelln flea market and Mauerpark flea market.
And if you prefer to buy your vintage clothes online or don't feel like trying on clothes directly in the store, we recommend the Vinted app - Berliners always find real treasures here. We also recommend always checking out the Instagram profiles of your favorite vintage stores, as many second-hand stores also sell their pieces online.
So, grab your best friend and have fun browsing through our favorite vintage stores in Berlin!
